Our highlight of the year

Naturally eco-friendly

New materials for more sustainability: Cuki Cofresco have been gradually converting product ranges for around ten years. The present aim is to continuously increase the proportion of recycled materials. Some products, such as bin liners under the Domopak Spazzy and professional brands, are already made from up to 100 percent recycled polyethylene and, together with other partners, Cuki Cofresco is researching the use of biodegradable plastics in the food sector to meet future sustainability requirements.

Our positioning

With its well-known Cuki® and Domopak® brands, Cuki Cofresco holds market-leading positions, especially in Italy. The company is also acclaimed as a manufacturer of sustainable food containers and packaging. Under the Cuki Professional® brand, the company offers a wide range of aluminum, plastic, and cardboard containers for the food industry and catering sector. Besides Italy, the division supplies several markets in Europe and the Middle East.

Our strategy

As the market leader in packaging products for the B2C and B2B segments, Cuki Cofresco is working to promote the use of sustainable materials such as cardboard, recycled plastics, and biodegradable plastics. The aim is to transform the product portfolio so that it is 100 percent in line with the circular economy principle. The initial focus will be on aluminum containers for the food industry and the launch of cardboard and compostable bioplastic packaging.

Market and business trends in 2020

Cuki Cofresco achieved its highest-ever annual sales in 2020, despite a shortfall in the B2B business segment due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The relevant sales growth (+ 10.2 % on 2019) was due to high demand in the B2C segment and in the food industry, together with a quite strong sales contribution from the subsidiaries Ilmak (Turkey) and DomoLiving (home storage business).

Outlook 2021

Cuki Cofresco aims to achieve the sales level of 2020 also in the current fiscal year. In the B2C segment, the products launched in late 2020 are to be further expanded, including recyclable aluminum plates and disposable polyethylene gloves. In the B2B segment, the company plans to expand its range of cardboard containers as a sustainable alternative to plastic packaging. In addition, investments in production capacities are planned to acquire new customers, particularly in export markets.
