The Melitta Business Service Center is expected to make a significant contribution to cost optimization, while at the same time providing expert advice and innovative ideas. It also supports the implementation of the Group’s sustainability goals, for example with regard to procurement processes, employee recruitment, and the promotion of remote working.
Market and business trends in 2021
The Melitta Business Service Center continued to expand its portfolio of services and optimize numerous processes in the fiscal year 2021. Substantial investments were made in all areas of IT in order to achieve the Group-wide harmonization and standardization targets. The fiscal year was also shaped by the effects of the pandemic, preparations for the roll-out of new ERP software, as well as measures to ensure supply capability and limit cost increases in the procurement markets.
In the fiscal year 2022, the Melitta Business Service Center will focus on implementing initiatives to drive forward the level of digitization across the Group and make processes more efficient. These include, for example, projects to harmonize processes in Finance and Human Resources. Measures to increase IT security are also planned, as are new initiatives to recruit skilled workers. With regard to purchasing, the Melitta Business Service Center anticipates that the current difficulties in procurement markets will continue.
